I have a colour crush! Colour is so powerful and can change a mood of a room. This collage was so much fun to create. Within the colour you can find some shapes, mark-making and gestural movement. Creating this original mixed media collage it was fun to tear up several abstract works on paper and piece them together to create a heavily textured finished piece.

Created on a wood panel the first step was to create a colourful abstract design on paper. Once that step was completed I took white watercolour paper and that beautiful finished abstract and ripped it up to create this playful design. The entire surface of the wood panel is covered in paper. The colourful parts are my abstract work.

Materials used: watercolour paper, mixed media papers, acrylic paints, inks, pencil, drywall tape, wood panel, matte medium, Mod Podge, wire for the back and sealant
