The Torn Edges of Life Are Beautiful
Mixing the bits and pieces of art and life
![]() Writing about gratitude is a personal thing. One doesn't need to show any one your gratitude journals. As you start your gratitude practice, keep in mind you are creating your gratitude story. Your journal may start out with pages full of what I call surface gratitude. Surface gratitude is the easy stuff to be grateful for like the roof over our head or having the freedom to live your life the way you want to. By the end of your gratitude journal, don't be surprised if you find yourself finding gratitude in places you didn't anticipate gratitude to be ~ from the not so pleasant experiences in our lives. Gratitude does live in unpleasant experiences and it's because of those difficult situations in life we are who were are at this very moment. So reflect upon the harder times in life as you move forward with each day and recognize how far you have come and be grateful for YOUR story.
